Who we are

The Lane Cove Cockatoos Wheelchair Basketball Club is based at Galuwa Recreation Centre in Lane cove and competes in competitions under the support of Wheelchair Sports NSW/ACT.

Founded in 2025 by Paralympian and coach Gerry Hewson, the club is building a strong, inclusive program for players of all ages and abilities.

Wheelchair basketball is for everyone!

You don’t need experience to get started.

We welcome:

  • ‍ ‍People with physical disabilities

  • Able-bodied players

  • Juniors and adults

  • First-time players and experienced athletes

If you can learn to push, pass, and are willing to have a go, you’re ready to play!
